Cashmore Park - Coopworths and Composites - Sheep Stud

Recent Research from the MAternal Central Progeny Test (MCPT) is showing huge yearly $ return for the ewes sired by different rams. These differences are about $35 per ewe per year. This is due to sires transmitting better growth, reproduction and wool characteristics to their daughters. With many prime lamb farms running 2,000 ewes, lost production is in the order of $70,000 annually. Can anyone afford this? Please take this link MCPT to see further information on this.

Two indexes are developed from the Lambplan EBV's which assist in sheep selection and calculating $ returns on a hectare basis.

Large amounts of data is collected from seedstock and commercial lambs and analyzed by Lambplan to created Estimated Breeding Values. Coupled with the use of Total Genetic Resource Management, a computer-mating program we have been able to make significant genetic progress and improve $ returns.
